Resurrection Rate
Resurrection Rate: Percentage of users dormant at period start who returned in the period.
Formula
Resurrection Rate = Reactivated users / Dormant users × 100 Computable definition
The canonical formula in the GASP formula grammar. The MCP server compiles it to SQL over the datasets listed below.
count_distinct(field.user_id where field.product_event_type = 'reactivation') / count_distinct(field.user_id where field.user_status = 'dormant') at period_start Unit: percent (the formula yields an unscaled ratio)
Data requirements
Grain: Per event, aggregate monthly · Frequency: Daily · Aggregation: aggregate (month) · Staged: no · Main source: Product Analytics.
| Field | Dataset | Type |
|---|---|---|
event_date | product_event | date |
product_event_type | product_event | string |
snapshot_date | user | date |
user_id | product_event | string |
user_id | user | string |
user_status | user | string |
Example SQL (Postgres)
SELECT (CAST((SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT user_id) FROM product_event WHERE event_date >= :period_start AND event_date <= :period_end AND product_event_type = 'reactivation') AS DOUBLE PRECISION) / NULLIF((SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT user_id) FROM user WHERE snapshot_date = :period_start AND user_status = 'dormant'), 0)) AS resurrection_rate From an agent: with the GASP MCP server, call
lookup_metric({ "name": "Resurrection Rate" }) or generate_query({ "metric": "Resurrection Rate", "adapter": "<your adapter JSON>" }).
What It Tells You
How many lapsed users you win back.
